Meticulously crafted by mother Nami and daughter Catherine, the clay is made from scratch using Okinawan clay and river water, resulting in a rough, handcrafted finish that is proof of "Made in Okinawa" ! The pottery is decorated with various Okinawan-themed patterns, vividly showcasing the beauty of Okinawa's nature , making you feel as if you are actually in Okinawa.
Although Catherine was exposed to pottery from a young age under the influence and education of her parents, she didn't truly pursue pottery as a career until she was 27! She moved to New Zealand with her younger brother who was studying there, and this trip became a turning point in her life. In the workshop of ceramic artist Barry Brickell, she rediscovered the joy of pottery. Upon returning to Ishigaki Island, she was struck by the artistry of her mother making pottery, and thus began to learn the craft from her mother. The career of a ceramic artist.
